Olivia Curl is one of GIRLWITHABOOK's co-founders and currently serves as its board president and Chief Visionary Officer. She holds a BA in International Studies and Arabic from the American University and has studied in Egypt and Jordan. Olivia has worked in reproductive healthcare and is particularly interested in the relationship between reproductive rights, education, and gender equality.
CO-FOUNDER | Chief Digital Media Strategist
Lena Shareef is one of GIRLWITHABOOK's co-founders and currently serves as the Chief Digital Media Strategist as well as the board secretary. She holds an MS in Journalism from Columbia University and a BA in Film & Video Production from the American University. Much of her interest and work has to do with the representation of women and minorities in the media, including movies, books, and comics. She has experience working in digital/social media and has previously lived in Pakistan, Ukraine, and Egypt.
BOARD MEMBER | Director of Photography
Jennifer serves on the Board of Directors of GIRLWITHABOOK and is also the Director of Photography for GIRLWITHABOOK's documentary project. Before GIRLWITHABOOK, she was based in Tunisia working as a journalist and photographer. Jennifer holds an MA in International Journalism from City University London, an MA in Islamic Societies & Cultures from SOAS, as well as a BA in International Studies from the American University. In addition to Tunisia, she has previously lived in the UK, India, Egypt, Switzerland and the US.
BOARD MEMBER | Chief Programming Officer
Adriana serves on the board of GIRLWITHABOOK and is also the Director of Programs. She holds her BA in International Studies from American University and has lived and worked in Tamil Nadu, India. She has worked in education for vulnerable communities and in the field of HIV/AIDS stigma. Her interests sit at the intersection of gender, education, and economic empowerment. She is super excited to join the team and anticipates GWAB doing big things in the future.
